Lumispot Announces the Release of the Next-Generation Semiconductor Side-Pumped Gain Module

Recently, Lumispot launched its new generation semiconductor side-pumped laser gain module. The module is centered on semiconductor side-pumping technology, featuring customizable crystal rod doping solutions, superior fluorescence distribution uniformity, and high-efficiency, high-power performance. It aims to provide more reliable and powerful core light source solutions for high-end laser applications in industrial processing, medical equipment, and scientific research.

The core highlight of this release lies in the highly customizable design of the module. Users can flexibly select the doping elements and concentrations of the crystal rods based on specific application requirements, enabling precise control over laser output wavelength, gain bandwidth, and thermodynamic performance. This design grants researchers unprecedented flexibility to optimize the output characteristics of lasers for specific material processing or nonlinear optical experiments.

In terms of optical performance, this module achieves groundbreaking uniformity in fluorescence distribution. Through an innovative side-pumping structure design and precision optical packaging techniques, the excitation light achieves nearly perfect energy distribution within the crystal rod, significantly reducing the thermal lensing effect and gain non-uniformity commonly seen in traditional pumping methods. This not only enhances the beam quality of laser output (with a superior M²factor) but also markedly improves the system's stability and reliability under long-term continuous or high-repetition-rate operation.

The module supports two high-efficiency operation modes: continuous and quasi-continuous. In quasi-continuous mode, it achieves extremely high repetition rates and peak power output, making it particularly suitable for industrial applications such as laser marking, drilling, and thin sheet cutting that require high peak energy impact. Additionally, its gain efficiency has significantly improved compared to previous products, meaning higher laser output power can be achieved under the same electrical pumping power, reducing system energy consumption and operational costs for users.

The technical director of Lumispot stated, "This side-pumped gain module represents another significant achievement in our deep specialization within the core components of solid-state lasers. We remain committed to addressing the fundamental challenges of high-power lasers in terms of efficiency, thermal management, and beam quality. The introduction of this module will provide our partners with a more powerful and flexible 'core engine' when developing next-generation high-performance lasers."

The launch of this gain module is expected to significantly drive the innovative applications of high-performance diode-pumped solid-state lasers in precision manufacturing, spectral analysis, remote ranging, and national defense research, thereby enhancing the self-reliance and competitiveness of China's high-end laser equipment.
